Nights are sometimes a little more difficult for me. My nerves get over stimulated from a full day and they begin to signal me that they need to rest. I try to stay positive and remind myself that I will be re-energized after a good night’s sleep. However, sometimes it seems impossible to hide the pain I am in because of my facial expressions.
A couple of nights ago, this exact scenario played out. As I sat on the couch, I heard my phone “ding” that a text message had been received. As I glanced over to the coffee table to pick up my iPhone, I saw that someone had sent me a picture. I opened up the text and burst out laughing. My husband, who was currently sitting on the other couch, had sent me a picture of us from Christmas time last year. However, he had switched our heads so now my head rested on a big, muscular guy, and his head sat on a girl wearing a Team Jacob shirt! As we laughed with each other, it reminded me that laughter is the best medicine. Whether it is talking to a friend, watching a comedy, or reading a funny story, I am going to be more intentional to find the humor in life.
What makes you laugh? Work on making someone else laugh today!
